Joseph, the DreamerHe was different from the others, envied and hated by his brothers; for he was the favorite of his dad, the young dreamer and hopeful lad. They stripped him of his treasured coat, and stained it with the blood of goat. They sold him as a slave and said, we'll tell our father he is dead. Bought and brought to a new land, without a kin, without a friend; yet somehow Joseph knew the Way, and shone His light from day to day. Potiphar's wife, he would not entertain, pleasing his God, this he would ascertain; though it would sure lead him to jail, he knew the Truth would soon prevail. Then Joseph ruled next to Pharaoh, his fame and love did grow and grow, as God through him brought salvation, sparing Egypt from starvation. No doubt he was filled with sadness, yet he served the Lord with gladness. Unto His God he'd vowed to stay loyal, indeed his pure heart was quite royal. Finally came the big family reunion, with his brothers Joseph had communion; when he revealed himself to them, they were so shocked that it was him. Their transgressions Joseph forgave, he knew their lives he had to save. It all made sense to Joseph now, why before him these stars would bow. © By Ernst Louis From my book Vices & Virtues (Poetry of Life)
Genesis 37 :9 (BSB)
Then Joseph had another dream and told it to his brothers. “Look,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
