I remember it so well,
the place, the despair and hell; the agony, the sorrow, the brokenness, the pain, the tears, and tenderness; the day when unto You I cried, longing for my soul to be satisfied. As a child cries when in pain or in need, I cried unto God, my soul to feed. Somehow I knew to call You Father; although You are my God and Maker. You heard me from Your holy place, and upon me bestowed Your grace. You have saved me from my despair; Your love to me has been so fair. You picked me up when I did fall, You are my God, my friend, my all. Oh, how can I ever forget, the day when my need was met? Yes, I remember it so well, the day You rang my heart’s bell. By Ernst Louis From my book Never Alone (Poetry Meets Faith)
(Psalm 18:6 KJV)
“In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even into His ears.”
